BOOK1 DESIGN HOSTEL – NEW DESIGN HOSTEL

BRØCHNER HOTELS HAS BEEN ACKNOWLEDGED WORLD-WIDE FOR THEIR AESTHETIC BOUTIQUE HOTELS IN COPENHAGEN AND NOW THE HOTEL CHAIN IS READY TO REVEAL THE NAME AND CONCEPT OF THEIR ANTICIPATED DESIGN HOSTEL. OPENING IN THE FORMER LIBRARY BUILDING FROM 1934 IN THE HEART OF AARHUS, THE NEW DESIGN HOSTEL IS A GAME CHANGER IN ITS CATEGORY.

In March 2020, a new design hostel will open in the iconic building of the former main library in Aarhus. BOOK1 Design Hostel is the name of Brøchner Hotels’ new hostel, opening its doors to both staying hostel guests and locals, who again will be able to use the building but now in new design with bars, food court and events.

,,The name of our new design hostel almost says it all,” tells CEO of Brøchner Hotels Nickolas Krabbe Bjerg. ,,First of all, BOOK is a reference to the former library that used to be in the building until 2015. Second, BOOK and 1 also refers to booking one bed, an entire dorm or perhaps one of the rooms or suites, which will also be available.”
According to CEO Nickolas Krabbe Bjerg the hotel chain are looking forward to add a hostel to the company’s portfolio: ,,BOOK1 Design Hostel will be a new unseen hostel concept, focusing on contributing to the local community by giving new life to the building, that has been abandoned since 2015.”

Brøchner Hotels is always developing new projects in unexploited and iconic buildings, which gives the buildings new life and contribute to the city. This was done latest with the 5-star Hotel Herman K in a former transformer station, and Hotel Ottilia in the former Carlsberg brewery buildings in Copenhagen. As any of Brøchner Hotels’ projects, the new design hostel is coming to live with great respect for the original architecture, which will tell an exceptional story in every detail of the new design

CONCEPTUAL DESIGN AND DIGITAL INNOVATION

At BOOK1 Design Hostel budget and quality go together, when booking one of the 452 beds in a dorm with private bunkbeds, private double rooms or one of the suites. No matter which bed or room booked, guests will experience how conceptual design is paired with digital hospitality innovation, making the hostel experience unlike any other.

,,Design plays an essential role at BOOK1 Design Hostel. With cool and functional design, guests will get a feeling of being ‘private together’ when they are in the social areas as well as in the different room types”, says Nickolas Krabbe Bjerg and continues:
,,Privacy follows automatically when booking a standard double room or a suite, but it is also possible to be private when booking a bed in one of the new pod dorms or bunk dorms.”
Brøchner Hotels’ CEO elaborates that the hotel chain has found inspiration for pod dorms from international pod and capsule hotels, where guests sleep among others, but are private in their own bed. Booking a bed in the pod dorms, guests will get a queen size bed, which can be made private by pulling a curtain in front of the bed.

Via an app guests can skip the key card and use their private mobile to check in and out, go directly to the room or dorm and use the device to unlock the door or even private locker as well as paying the final bill. Inside the dorms intelligent lighting with sensors, will make sure that even the most light-sleeper will not wake up, when other guests enter the dorm during the night.
