Why we chose the name will become clear the moment you open the door: inside, you’re greeted by the original malt silos, which once stored the very foundation of the world-famous Carlsberg beer. The large silos are part of the interior as a monumental centerpiece, where the concrete architecture around them is cleverly transformed into seating spots. As it is below ground, you might worry about light. No need at all! Each suite is uniquely designed with individual character, but they all boast spectacular, lofty ceilings with arched windows (and views of historic landmarks outside) that provide natural light. Like your own exclusive heritage hideaway tucked away from the buzz.

Designed with effortless elegance, the suite features a spacious open-plan space with a sitting area, air conditioning, fridge, bedside lamps, a large closet, a safe, and a flatscreen TV. Black-fold curtains paired with white drapes in contemporary patterns provide an artistic backdrop to the spectacular arched windows. The bathroom includes a luxurious rain shower, a (good) hairdryer and steamer, and Danish luxury bath amenities.

In design, Ottilia Heritage redefines luxury, where industrial architecture, sustainable craftsmanship, and exclusive elegance come together. The suites are designed in loft style, boasting spectacular open plan spaces that reflect the building’s past where listed elements are creatively incorporated into the interior. Some furniture is crafted from signature wood repurposed from the original structure, while mirrored installations enhance the sense of grandeur, and layered drapes in minimalist patterns matched with colorful, textured carpets add a contemporary gallery ambiance against the raw industrial backdrop. As another nod to Carlsberg’s legacy, each side of the bed is styled with a designer lamp that represents the brewer and his wife: the ‘Carl’ lamp and the ‘Ottilia’ lamp. In keeping with the heritage element of Hotel Ottilia, the 'Ottilia' lamp was originally designed for the hotel by RUBN. Now, redesigned in industrial steel to match the style of Ottilia Heritage.
